In the past decade, the incidence among people in their 30s has jumped by 70 percent.
Diet: The average American eats about 150 lbs of white sugar per year. This does not include the 100 lbs of white flour products, breads, pastas, and baked goods that are consumed.
Your risk of a heart attack or stroke is four times higher if you have diabetes than if you don’t. It’s 2 times higher if you have pre-diabetes
Sixty percent of diabetics die of a heart attack and 20 percent die of a stroke.”
Warning Signs of diabetes:
Type 1 diabetes: Frequent urination, unusual thirst, extreme hunger, unusual weight loss, extreme fatigue, irritability.
Type 2 diabetes: Any of the type 1 symptoms, also frequent infections, blurred vision, cuts or bruises, tingling or Numbness in the hands or feet, recurring skin, gum, or bladder infections.
Note: People with type 2 diabetes often have no symptoms
