Americans are Ignorant to How Crucial Sleep is to Health, even to Preventing Cancer
Most Americans don’t understand or believe how important sleep is in maintaining good health, a new poll finds.
A survey of 2,442 Americans, conducted by SleepApneaInfo.com., said that:
69% of American adults fail to recognize sleep as a critical factor in maintaining health.
62% of American adults believe that proper diet or exercise is more important than sleep in maintaining a happy and healthy life.
58% of employed Americans experienced some daytime sleepiness.
Younger adults (aged 18-34) were the most likely to indicate that they experience daytime sleepiness (69%) and the most likely to indicate that daytime sleepiness negatively impacts their productivity at work (15%).
About 40 million Americans suffer from sleep disorders, and 18 million of them have obstructive sleep apnea, in which the person stops sleeping many times a night because of a blocked airway.

You can go 30 days or more without food and be healthier (clinical fasting). You can never exercise and still maintain health but you can only go 48 hours without sleep and your body shuts down and you will pass out in order to take what the body desperately needs—SLEEP. With over 40 million Americans suffering from sleep disorders and many more could potentially be added to this list with the new study showing yawning and snoring may just be different forms of sleep apnea. It is time to resolve this and begin to be healthy. It starts by going to bed when God designed you to, which is when the sun goes down and getting up at His appointed time, when the sun comes up. Now to many of you this would be such a drastic change in lifestyle when you are used to going to bed a midnight, so you do not have to go to bed at 7 pm tonight but start decreasing the time you do get to bed at least by a half hour every week or two until you are getting in bed by the sleep study recommended time of between 8-9pm. One easy way to do this is wake up especially early let say at 4am for the next week. When you wake up early you become tired by 8pm and you want to go to sleep. This is one way you can break your late night getting to bed habit.
